Post doctoral scientist / Land Cover & Dynamics

Department Remote Sensing, Helmholtz Centre for Environmental Research - UFZ

I’m a postdoc in the working group Land Cover & Dynamics at the Department Remote Sensing of the Helmholtz Centre for Environmental Research - UFZ. My scientific background covers different aspects, from satellite data processing to terrestrial systems modeling, from limnology to mesoscale atmospheric modeling. In the current research I work on the grasslands managenent and how to monitor it from spectral signals. This implies usage of grassland model GRASSMIND, PROSAIL radiative transfer model, field and lab work on retrieving plant traits. My interests include (but not limited by) numerical modeling of various kinds, from subsurface hydrology, lake thermodynamics, to atmosphere and climate processes, and ratiadive transfer, subsequent data processing using high performance computing.
